About Hugo

I’ve been teaching ESL for 5 years and have worked with close to 160 students across different skill levels. My lessons focus on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and conversation skills needed in daily life and work settings. I make sure lessons are interesting and tailored to each learner’s goals. Watching students gain confidence and communicate better inspires me to keep improving my teaching.

About the lesson

My ESL teaching method is designed to create a learning environment that is practical, motivating, and flexible. With over five years of experience, I understand that students learn English best when they can connect lessons to real-life situations. Therefore, I use real-life examples and case studies—such as conversations at work, travel dialogues, or daily social interactions—to make lessons meaningful and useful.

Motivation is a core part of my teaching philosophy. I work closely with students to set clear goals based on their needs, whether for school, work, or personal reasons. I celebrate every achievement to help students build confidence and maintain enthusiasm for learning. I also believe that flexibility is essential—every student has a unique learning style and pace, so I adapt lessons accordingly to maximize understanding and engagement.

Problem-solving is integrated throughout my teaching. When students struggle with complex grammar or vocabulary, I break down concepts into manageable steps and provide plenty of examples and practice. I encourage students to think critically and creatively about language, which helps them develop fluency and confidence.

Integrity guides my teaching approach. I foster an open and honest environment where students feel safe to ask questions, make mistakes, and learn from them. I provide constructive feedback and maintain a respectful and supportive classroom atmosphere.

Along with core English skills, I teach related areas such as writing, listening, and cultural knowledge to help students become effective communicators in diverse situations. My goal is to help learners gain the skills and confidence to use English clearly and confidently in everyday life.
