About Séverine

My "unconventional" career path enables me to adapt to all types of learners, including young learners and learners with additional needs.

As a qualified primary school teacher in France and a preschool teacher in England and New Zealand, I have taught both English and French to children aged 2 to 12.

As an English as a Second Language (ESOL) trainer in Asia, Europe and New Zealand, I have taught students ranging from 6 to 60 years old. This has included tutoring, corporate training, university teaching, exam preparation, workshops, as well as general English and conversation classes.
I also provide private English and French lessons online.

In addition, I have held a variety of administrative and government-related roles in England, New Zealand, and France. These experiences have given me a broad understanding of the professional world that extends beyond the field of education.

About the lesson

I offer face-to-face and online lessons inspired by my professional and personal experience gained across both France and English-speaking countries.

- ESOL English for Speakers of Other Languages (exam preparation, business English, academic support, conversation)

- French (conversation, French for traveling, business French, academic support, exam preparation)

- Tutoring possible for other subjects up to year 9

My teaching approach is based above all on building confidence and tailoring lessons to each individual student. Together, we create a program that reflects your needs, interests, and goals.
After each lesson, I provide my students with detailed notes, as well as additional resources, links, and activities to support their learning.
The focus is placed on communication and on learning grammar in real-life contexts.

The exercises she provides match the student’s level and gradually increase in difficulty.
Her work on grammar, vocabulary, and speaking—on both common topics and more specific ones depending on your needs—is extremely valuable. New elements are systematically reviewed from one lesson to the next and regularly throughout the month.
Séverine offers many alternative ways to express sentences we wouldn’t know how to formulate in English.
