About Alison

I have been tutoring individuals for 6 years. First, I was tutoring organic chemistry and genetics to college students. Then, I went to Spain to work as an English teacher. I worked at a high school in the mornings and at an academy in the afternoons. I am no longer working in Spain, but I still enjoy teaching English! So now I am teaching English remotely while I studying for my doctorate in dental medicine.

About the lesson

I walk students through conversation based lessons accompanied with a PowerPoint Presentation. We will first warm up with small talk then begin a themed lesson. We will discuss vocabulary, read passages, play games, and grammar. For example, if the theme is artificial intelligence we will discuss related vocabulary (recognition, cognition, virtual reality, etc). Then, read a passage about what Elon Musk predicts the future of AI will look like. And, finally, discuss the proper grammar for expressing predictions. Then the student would share their predictions for AI.

We have practiced for the exam of C1 of Cambridge and I truly admit that the improvement I have done extending my vocabulary is unbelievable.
She is a really kind and understanding teacher who I personally think that adapts very well to the needs of every student. In my personal case she recommended me books for improving my reading and she also helped me out with phrasal verbs.
