About Nathaniel

With 15 years of piano experience and a passion for teaching, I am excited to offer lessons specifically for beginner adults. Although I am new to teaching, my structured, patient approach ensures that you will build confidence and enjoy the learning process. I focus on simplifying complex concepts and tailoring each lesson to your progress, so you can achieve your musical goals step by step.

About the lesson

My Approach as a Piano Tutor

Teaching Method and Techniques:
My teaching is centered around a step-by-step, structured approach designed for adult beginners. I use a 5-step method that ensures you gradually build a solid foundation, focusing on essential skills like reading sheet music, rhythm, and finger placement. I emphasize practical learning by introducing songs early on and combining theory with hands-on practice. I also incorporate basic improvisation, allowing you to be creative and develop your own style.

Typical Lesson Plan:
A typical lesson begins with reviewing previous material and addressing any challenges you encountered during practice. From there, we’ll move on to learning new concepts, whether it’s a new song, scale, or technique. I always break down complex ideas into simple, manageable steps, ensuring you fully grasp each concept before moving forward. Lessons end with setting clear goals for your personal practice sessions, so you leave each class knowing exactly what to work on.

What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor:
My personalized approach makes me stand out. I focus on ensuring that each student not only understands the material but also feels confident in their ability to practice independently. I don’t just teach you how to play piano—I give you the tools to develop long-lasting skills. I also bring flexibility to the lessons, adapting to your learning pace and musical interests, whether you want to play classical music or pop songs.

Who My Lessons Are For:
My lessons are specifically designed for adult beginners who may have little to no experience with piano. I focus on helping those who want a clear, structured learning path without feeling overwhelmed by technical jargon. Whether you want to learn for personal enjoyment, as a hobby, or to impress family and friends, my lessons provide a supportive and approachable environment to develop your skills.
