About Jay

I’m a self-taught musician with a strong foundation in singing, piano, and composition, and I’ve performed in various settings like musicals, churches, and talent shows. My journey has instilled in me a deep curiosity and perseverance, which I bring to every challenge. I can read sheet music. I can improvise and have a few tricks that have helped me over the years. As a tutor, I blend creativity and precision, ensuring that my teaching approach is both engaging and effective. I’m committed to helping my students grow, inspiring confidence through personalized lessons that cater to their unique needs. You can trust that my experience and passion for music will provide a solid foundation for your learning journey. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and helping you unlock your musical potential!

About the lesson

I’m a patient and attentive. I love teaching new things to others. If you are a beginner or intermediate level, we can create a custom plan that you are comfortable with.

What Sets Me Apart: My passion for music and commitment to building confidence help students overcome challenges.

I blend traditional techniques with modern methods, using sight-reading, ear training, and improvisation, while incorporating songs my students love.

Typical Lesson Plan: We start with warm-ups, review previous material, and introduce new concepts, encouraging student input and setting goals for the next session.

Who the Lessons Are For: My lessons cater to all ages and skill levels, from beginners to advanced musicians, helping everyone unlock their musical potential!

Jay is hands down the best piano teacher ever! I mean, I’m deaf, so I thought playing piano was about as likely as me becoming an astronaut. But Jay? He’s got the patience of a saint and somehow turned me into a piano player! He taught me to feel the music—literally—and didn’t even flinch when I asked if pianos came with subtitles. If this guy can teach me, he can teach anyone (yes, even you). Highly recommend him—10/10, would bang on the keys again!
