About Nikola

I'm an ex Civil Engineer with a HNC from Sheffield Hallam University. I home educate my child with SEN and have supported children with disabilities and challenges in both primary and secondary schools. I currently teach ESL online with children and adults. As Ann online tutor I can teach students anywhere in the world providing they have a stable internet connection and a webcam. I am undertaking a level 5 140 hour TEFL and have CPD certificates in Management, Equality and Diversity and Genomics (post graduate course) I never stop learning. I'm undertaking CPD certificates in TEFL, Autism and Autism Learning Supports. I am also a keen arty, crafty, console game-y, nature loving, reading, studying and pet kind of person.

About the lesson

My students are individuals with individual needs. I'm happy to help all ages/abilities of students. My teaching is of an eclectic style and flexible to the level the student is learning at. For example, for conversational English practice, I may take an article or topic from a website and focus on the subject, spelling, grammar etc. I can choose content to match the interests of the student. My lesson structure starts with a warm up introduction, a recap on previous learning and a core part. At the
end there is a game or quiz. I like to understand how the student learns best and teach in that way. Are they a visual, or an auditory learner? I aim to encourage and celebrate their strengths and reduce anxiety around difficulties.
