About Daisuke

JLPT N1 Certified | Experienced language teacher | Degree in Linguistics | TESOL certified | Japanese-American I have worked as a tutor in both linguistics and Japanese at the college level, worked in Japan as an English teacher, studied language learning theory and techniques extensively in university. I began studying Japanese in 2018 after high school, and eventually moved to Japan to teach English, where I passed the JLPT N1 in 2024, and I'll begin working as a bilingual professional at a Japanese corporation in 2026.

About the lesson

If you're a beginner, intermediate, or working towards JLPT N1 level, let's study!
I am a very laid-back person who will adapt and work with you at your level. Let's assess your level and your goals, and take into account your specific needs to make a learning plan together.
In general, my studies/experience in language learning and linguistics mean I prioritize:
- A low-stress environment where language learning is fun
- The importance of authentic language input, in the form of Japanese media consumption, reading, and conversation
- A space where your Japanese is built collaboratively, not taught only through rules and memorization.
