Nikita only had a slight accent when he started taking lessons from me a couple months ago. He has been diligently working on the few sounds that were giving him a foreign accent, and we’re working on helping him have strong rhythm and intonation. He will sound virtually indistinguishable from a native born American soon which is a huge accomplishment!

Ronit has a very good ear and only a slight accent, it is exciting to have a student who is so close to sounding American. In recent years I've been getting a lot of very advanced students. I also have experience with students who have heavier accents.

Recently I’ve been getting some students who are very advanced and the next level is to be indistinguishable from a native speaker. Raj has the advantage that he lives in America. But because he has already gotten this far and is ready to continue improving I know he’ll sound great in a little while.

Diana has more of a talent for language than she realizes, at least with pronunciation she'll be able to make progress easily, as she already demonstrated in her first lesson. Living in America and being a musician are probably big advantages for her.

I enjoy talking with Catherine. She's benefiting from having lived in America for a while; her fluency and accent will easily improve.

Olga has taken one lesson so far. She is right to be excited. A language is a set of sounds and sound patterns, learning pronunciation is learning those sounds. All of my students make improvements, usually very noticeable improvements. Olga certainly will be no exception.

Tausif is right; patience and practice are your two best friends for learning English pronunciation. His accent is at the stage of what I call fine-tuning, where he can make most of the sounds of American English but don't yet sound purely American. Since he has gotten this far and understands the importance of patience and practice, I have confidence that he can have an almost purely American accent if he wants to.

Fei’s English is already advanced, with a moderate foreign accent. She has the advantage of living in America, hearing the sounds and sound patterns of American English around her so if she keeps working on it she’ll be able to make big improvements.

Kseniya is a diligent student and very observant. She wants to sound like a native speaker, is already close and will get there soon. I’m very happy to be able to help her.

Sophia wants to eradicate any traces of her foreign accent. Of course that’s a very ambitious goal, but she got close to it on her own before even taking lessons from me. I think it’s only a matter of time before she’s indistinguishable from a native speaker and I’m enjoying helping her get there.

Regina has done several of the exercises and limericks and now says sounds like the th and V much better. She is at the stage that I call fine-tuning. She always has a positive attitude and will be able to have only a slight foreign accent or maybe no accent at all if she wants to.

Over time Carmen has made a lot of progress on the R and now she has a very nice R, she also usually remember when to use the H, and her accent has improved a lot overall, as well as her fluency.

Masoud is another student who will very likely sound indistinguishable from a native speaker in the near future, which is exciting for me as a tutor. He's at the level where he just has to fine tune his accent. He already says most sounds very well, including the difficult sounds. He has a full, beautiful American/Canadian R.

Aisyah started taking lessons from me just a couple weeks ago. She has been working on her R and it is a very good quality R and will stay that way if she practices it. She has a real talent for pronunciation; a great ear and is very observant. I think she could sound indistinguishable from an American after about a year of work if she wants to.

Vadim is a patient and diligent student and will continue to make progress.

Liviu’s English is advanced with a mild foreign accent which has already improved a bit in the couple of weeks that he has been taking lessons with me. Some sounds he’s able to say but needs practice so they will get easier, and he needs to get in the habit of saying them. He is an eager and intelligent learner, and in time we'll be able to fine-tune his accent and he’ll sound just like an American.

Nikolay started taking lesson from me a few years ago, and his level was lower intermediate. He is patient and likes challenges, and his diligence is paying off; now his English is lower advanced. Also his English is not simply a translation of his native language; it is the English that Americans speak. He doesn’t have a heavy foreign accent. It’s a privilege for me to have students like him and to observe and assist him in the progress he’s making.

Anvar has a good ear and catches on to things quickly. He has the potential to speak American English with only a slight foreign accent or even no accent at all if he wants to. He’s a good student to work with. His current overall level of English is advanced.
