About Rebekah

I love sharing my passion of music with others. Each student is special in their own unique way and I love helping them branch out in their passion for music.

I started teaching lessons about a year after I graduated college. Some friends from a family connection needed a piano teacher for their two kids and that's what kickstarted my teaching.

I have taken piano lessons for 12 years since the age of 4, and then 4 years at a college level. I graduation with BA degree in music performance.

About the lesson

First lessons are always focused on getting to know the student and finding out their current knowledge of the piano. We will go over basic music knowledge such as identifying notes on a staff and where they fall on the keyboard. Once I figure out what level they are, we either will continue with whatever books they have been working on or we will start in the earlier stages of music if needed.

I have worked with kids who are perfectionists that struggle with getting through lessons with making mistakes.

My advice is talk to a couple of teachers. Find one that you can click with. You want a teacher that you're comfortable with and one that you'll know you'll enjoy learning from. If they make learning an instrument exciting, then you'll have fun learning.
