About Guy
Guy is a professional ESL teacher and academic coach with 8+ years of experience. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) and a Master's degree in Linguistics from Harvard University. He's also CELTA certified.
Guy has taught English to business executives around the world at Google, Yahoo!, Rakuten, Kobo, Nikkei, Digital Media Mart (DMM), Nippon Telegraph and Telephone (NTT) Corporation, Yamada-Denki, and more.
He has also tutored ESL university students in the U.S., Canada, Japan, Korea, and China; and has helped more than 40 students get accepted to top universities, including Harvard, MIT, Yale, Cornell, Columbia University, Williams College, University of Pennsylvania, UCLA, and UC Berkeley.
Guy founded Academic and Profesional English Coaching (APEC) International in 2015 with the goal of providing personalized, academic and business coaching services to non-native English speakers around the world. APEC International's coaching sessions are optimized for each client and cover a wide range of topics, from mental conditioning and personal study/work habits to persuasive speaking and writing skills.
If academic or professional success is what you want, Guy has the tools and tactics you need to improve your communication, enhance your credibility, and achieve optimal performance in your industry or field. He attracts hard-working, goal-driven learners who are self-motivated and focused. If that is you, then there is no time to waste. Contact Guy today.
I enjoy meeting new people and helping them accomplish their dreams.

I attract hard-working, goal-driven learners who are self-motivated and focused. If that is you, or if that is who you want to be, then we will work well together.
Be precise about your goals and revisit them every day.
Ask all of your questions during lessons or meetings.
Try every method until you find one that works.
A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are your goal(s)? (Be specific.)
What do you expect to gain from your relationship with your tutor/coach? (Again, be specific).
Are you willing to fail until you succeed?

Guy is the ideal English teacher! He showed me how to get into the college of my dreams and even helped me start my own business. He is a true genius and a business guru. I often call Guy with questions about the nuances of the English language, American business culture, or both; and he always provides the best help.

My standard rate is between $75 and $100/hr. The exact rate you are charged will be determined based on:
- your goal(s) or desired outcome(s)
- your speaking proficiency
- whether we have lessons by phone/Skype or in person
- your location
– and a few other factors.
Note: First lessons/meetings are half-priced ($33–50/hr.). After that, we determine a specific strategy, including: weekly goals, 1-month goal, 6-month goal; meeting frequency; and meeting location (local or remote). I am willing travel up to 150 miles to meet with the best students.
