About Chris

I started learning piano and violin when I was 5 and continued studying for over 15 years, graduating from the prestigious Italian conservatoire in 2001. I also completed a year’s contemporary music studies at Nexus in the UK and took part in master classes with the likes of Jason Rebello, David Newton and Snarky Puppy. I also took part in the summer Berklee Jazz clinics in 2003.

Apart from the Italian conservatoire degree, I also hold a degree in communication and three teaching certificates.

I have taught successfully for over 12 years both privately, in a music academy and in FE colleges. I've also performed in orchestras, ensembles and bands, playing at venues including Wembley Stadium, The Royal Albert Hall and a couple of 5* hotels in London.

About the lesson

I have a holistic teaching approach in the sense that I combine both thorough musical knowledge and music theory with a more relaxed and contemporary approach, using apps, handouts and some online resources.
I believe in approaching each student based on their individuality, tailoring the lesson where possible to their needs and learning style.
Apart from just teaching the instrument, I cover a wide range of topics, including reading and using chord symbols, music theory (up to ABRSM grade 5), different contemporary styles (pop, soul, basic jazz, etc), improvisation, production (computer-based), etc
