About Sakiko

I was born and raised in Japan, and it wasn't until my twenties that I became fluent in English. From there, I completed a graduate program in the UK. That's why I empathize more than anyone with the difficulties and struggles of learning a second language, and I want to cherish the feeling of "I understand!" and "This is fun!" in each and every lesson.

About the lesson

I offer conversation-based lessons for those who want to acquire natural conversational skills that are difficult to learn from textbooks. Drawing on my experience as a Japanese tutor in the UK, I use English to explain things that are difficult to understand or to those encountering Japanese for the first time. I cater to a wide range of learners, from beginners to those who want more exposure to native-level Japanese.

Perfect! Sakiko is a wonderful teacher. She is very receptive to my learning style and I always feel very comfortable and eager to learn in class. It's a great environment to make mistakes and learn how to correct them in a way that is fun and interesting. I am shy when speaking Japanese but lessons with Sakiko make language learning feel more like a puzzle, so it's fun. I am excited for more lessons.
