About Tangaroa
Kia Ora, my name is Tangaroa! I’ve been passionate about music for most of my life. I began taking music lessons at the age of 8, and still have a strong desire and passion for it now. As someone who has been through the same learning journey, I know what it’s like to come across challenges. I've been patient, approachable, and dedicated to creating a learning space where students feel comfortable, supported, and motivated to grow. Outside of teaching, I love connecting with nature, going on walks and watching beautiful scenery is one of my favorite hobbies. Music has always been a big part of who I am, and I’m excited to share that passion with my students.

Te Reo Maori
I use a student centered approach, I break the complex elements of Music into mini analogies that younger students will be able to understand.
My standard length of a lesson would be 45 minutes to 1 hour.
I've completed NCEA Music studies from Level 1 up to Level 3 which includes theory, performance, practical and much more. I started piano when I was 8 and the flute when I was 9 years old.
I've been a student once before so I can explain things from a student-to-student perspective, which makes learning way less intimidating.
My lessons are catered towards beginners in Piano or Flute.
