About Riona

Born and raised in Sydney from Japanese descent. Commerce Graduate of Macquarie University, majoring in International Business.

I’ve studied Japanese during high school at a Heritage level and ranked 4th in the NSW State HSC course. I have also achieved an N1 level in JLPT, the highest level in Japanese language studies, in primary school.

I am teaching various students from primary school students to adults, both academic and lifestyle purposes. Most of the HSC and IB students I have taught so far have enjoyed my lessons and achieved high results in exams.

About the lesson

Through the peer-learning style, students will be able to immerse themselves in the Japanese language and culture in a comfortable and enjoyable learning environment.

My lessons involve engaging in various learning activities incorporating speaking, writing, reading, listening, role-plays, etc. which will assist in enhancing the student’s understanding of the Japanese language and culture whilst meeting the NESA and IB syllabus requirements.

Students will be participating in:

- Daily conversation using prescribed grammar and vocabulary in NESA and IB (E.g. AB initio)
- Reading various text types (diary, article, etc.)
- Writing exercises (writing response, applying new vocab, grammar and kanji)
- Listening exercises (listening to conversations in practical situations and comprehending)
- Fun activities (flashcards, watching videos relating to Japanese culture, role-play in different scenarios such as shops, business, school, etc.)

I will be also giving consistent feedback for each session to ensure that students can track their progress together.

Original worksheets and lesson materials provided, tailored to each student's needs.

For a free consultation or to book a trial lesson, please don't hesitate to message me through Superprof or contact me through email (concealed information) or phone ((concealed information)).
