About Roland

Hi there,
My name is Roland, I am a self-taught artist from Hungary with more than 25 years of experience in art. I picked up the pencil very early in my life and never put it down ever since. Creating from imagination is where I thrive. I love traditional drawing, sketching, digital art, concept art, 3D modelling, game development, etc…anything that requires creativity, problem solving and great imagination. Recently started teaching university game designer students how to get their drawing to meet high standards. I believe with dedication and curiosity there are no limits.

About the lesson

If you have been practicing but you don’t seem to improve, I can help you to find the right path.

First lessons I prefer in person as it gives the opportunity to get to know each other better and communicate what is the desired outcome of our sessions. Later lessons could be via webcam.

My aim is to make lessons as meaningful as possible and enjoyable at the same time. Length of sessions are normally no longer than 2 hours, of course it depends on your attention span. We want to be effective not exhausted.

I will encourage you not to hold back and welcome mistakes into your drawings. Drawing without the need to impress yourself or anyone else makes creating effortless and enjoyable.

I’m always open to any suggestion regarding our lessons, the most important is that we understand each other and make progress.

Sessions include the following learning materials:
• Developing a keen eye for details.
• Sketch and experiment.
• Break down complex objects into simple shapes.
• Build complex objects using simple shapes.
• Understanding proportions.
• Discover the basics of composition.
• Lights and shadows.
• Study the construction of the human body, hands, feet, face, hair, etc….
