Patience, variety and making sure the student is comfortable through all lessons is my main aim. All lessons are written up and extra outer lesson study materials are send to help each student progress in their own time and at their chosen pace.

I always make sure the student is learning material and at a pace that is enjoyable for them, rather than just pushing teachings and pressures onto them. Collaborating with the student is a vital part of my teachings, from making sure they are comfortable with what specific works and scripts they prefer to learn and work with.

I also like to take time to work on the emotional side of acting, wether this be script work, or character work
helping the student to become better and more confident working independently so we can keep moving forward throughout the future lessons.

For me every student is different and I love to cater to how they want to learn and will always make sure we can work together to get the most out of our time together and help them become the musician they want to become.

  • When did you first develop a passion for music and your favourite instrument?

I was into music from a very young age, but I was 7 when I first picked up the guitar and learnt self taught. I also started singing from the age of 10 and started picking up other instruments such as drums, bass and piano.
  • Is there a particular type of music or artist that you listen to on a loop without it driving you crazy?

For me its Rockabilly and Rock N' Roll, I grew up listening to the likes of Chuck Berry, Jerry Lee Lewis and Carl Perkins and have so much love for this music to this day. I also have a passion for early Blues music as well as Rhythm and Blues and Country.
  • Explain to us the most difficult or riveting course you could personally give to a student of music.

This all depends on the student and what thy enjoy learning. But probably looking into a lot of different styles and genres of music and how they differ in playing styles and technique.
  • What do you think is the most complicated instrument to master and why?

There are many types of instruments in the world and so many more different types of people, so for me it all depends on the person and instrument they want to try and learn. The guitar however isn't the easiest to master due to the string tunings and various styles and techniques that are used to play it.
  • What are your keys to success?

Patients, acceptance and collaboration. Taking your time and being gracious and patient with yourself is a great practise to have, it will help you get the most out of your practise. Accepting failures is also very important and the best way to be ok with messing up and knowing you can and will improve. Collaboration in my eyes is also another vital key to success, make sure you are not a competitive musician and are willing work with others and listen and learn.
  • Name three musicians you dream of meeting in your favourite bar in the early hours of the morning. Explain why.

I would have to pick Carl Perkins, Elvis Presley and Sam Cooke. I have so many questions I would love to ask and I would love to hear the past stories and events straight from the horses mouth.
  • Provide a valuable anecdote related to music or your days at music school.

Not so much an anecdote, but studying a music degree make me realise how many different types of musicians were out there and how they all have so many different points of views and ways of playing music. I came from a background where improvising and creating on the fly were key, where as a lot of other musicians there couldn't do that and were just pure readers and players which is something I that I struggled with at the time.
  • What are the little touches that make you a Superprof in music?

Im a very patient and accepting tutor, I have a lot of experience in most areas of the music and theatre industry and so can see things from a lot of different points of views. I love collaborating with the students and make sure its them that runs the session and suggests different ways we can improve together to make the most and get the most out of our sessions.
