About Rangiatea
I am now a stay-at-home māmā of 2 young tamariki under the age of 3 and we are a Māori speaking household. I used to take my eldest with me to kura (school) every single day, Mon-Fri 8am-4pm and teach a class full of 5 year olds - FOR A YEAR. So you can say, my patience is at an all time high and I have learnt to be flexible, relaxed and approach things differently to keep people engaged.
I have been in education all my life, helping my mother with her school work from planning to implementing and on occasion, assessing students academic progress.
I’m always open to learning myself, I believe that I am only a guide and my students are in control of how they choose to learn.
My role as the teacher is to listen, apply necessary knowledge and skills to make learning fun and educational.

Te Reo Maori
I offer fortnightly online tutoring sessions, available exclusively on Mondays. With over 9 years of experience in both mainstream and full immersion education, I tailor each lesson to meet the individual needs of my students. My approach incorporates Play-based and Montessori methods, designed to engage learners and support both social and academic development.
Each 45-minute lesson is structured to ensure effective learning while keeping students motivated. I work with learners as young as 5 years old, as well as tertiary students seeking to enhance their proficiency in Te Reo Māori.
My goal is to make learning Te Reo Māori accessible, practical, and enjoyable, while providing a flexible, supportive environment.

Rangiātea is a trustworthy tutor of Te Reo Māori lessons because she has been exposed to Te Reo Māori all of her life.
She comes from a family of teachers who majority have and continue to teach Te Reo Māori.
Her background in teaching + te Reo Māori is also another reason why she is trustworthy. She taught at a Māori language speaking full immersion school for numerous years. I have also been able to witness her and her little family nurture the Māori language through their children.
I often go to Rangiātea if I need support or confirmation on something I want to say in the Māori language and she helps.She has amazing energy, she is easy to understand and allows you to unpack and understand with ease and flow.
She holds a lot of knowledge and can be really fun to learn from. I’ve loved working with her for the last 2 years and she inspires me everyday to keep going!
