About Katie

I’m Katie, a friendly and dedicated tutor with strong experience supporting Year 11 students in mathematics. I’ve helped learners boost their confidence and improve their exam performance through clear explanations, structured sessions, and a patient, approachable teaching style.

Alongside tutoring, I bring a strong academic background in Chemistry, Physics and Mathematics, and I’m currently studying Chemistry, Biological and Medicinal Chemistry at the University of York. My work experience at the Francis Crick Institute and Pfizer has strengthened my analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and attention to detail - all of which I bring into my teaching.

I’m resilient under pressure, highly organised, and committed to helping students achieve their best.

About the lesson

My Geography sessions are designed to make the subject clear, engaging, and genuinely enjoyable. I focus on helping GCSE students build a strong understanding across key topics. Each lesson is structured and personalised, ensuring students can confidently connect ideas, apply case studies, and tackle exam questions with clarity.

I break down complex concepts into simple, manageable steps, using real-world examples to help students see how Geography shapes everyday life. Whether a student needs help recalling case-study details, improving exam technique, or strengthening overall understanding, my sessions provide targeted support that builds confidence and boosts performance.

With 2 years’ experience tutoring GCSE students, I’ve helped learners achieve meaningful grade improvements through patient guidance, clear explanations, and effective revision strategies. My teaching style is friendly, supportive, and approachable - creating a space where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring new ideas.
