About Gavin

I’m a BFA Theater graduate of Cornish College of the Arts and a teaching artist with experience at Seattle Shakespeare Company and Studio East. My training includes classical texts, text analysis, voice and speech, and audition technique. I offer clear, encouraging coaching that helps each actor make specific choices and build confidence.

About the lesson

Bring Shakespeare off the page and into the room. We’ll explore a short speech through imagery, rhythm, stakes, and playable actions, then test choices aloud in a supportive coaching session. Ideal for curious beginners and actors preparing a monologue, audition, or school production. No prior Shakespeare experience is needed; bring a text you love or I can suggest one.

On a personal level, Gavin is a really chill and knowledgeable man. I really enjoy listening to his experiences in the industry. I met Gavin through a Discord server for the Casting Call Club and he mentioned that he was starting Voice Acting and Public Speaking classes. After 12 years of just winging it, I figured it was time that I took things seriously. So I took him up on his offer and Gavin has been an amazing teacher for me. I've learned so much from him over our several sessions for Voice Acting. Honestly, I feel like I've leveled up because of him! From simple pronunciations and vocal exercises to Scene work from Shakespeare and even some tips of vocal manipulation! There has been so much that I've learned! And now? I feel like I've been getting even more roles than I have before!

I go way back to Cornish College of the Arts as a fellow alumni. I had the opportunity to both work with Gavin as one of our leads in, “Of Mice and Men,” as well as be taught by him on fight choreography. Plus I was his interview subject on a streaming show that he produced and hosted. I always appreciated how personable he is! He will be a great teacher of Public Speaking.
