About Michael
I have a BAjointHons degree in Music and Sonic Arts and a PGCE in Secondary Music. Professionally, I am a secondary school music teacher based in London supporting students ages 11 to 18 through KS3, KS4 (GCSE/Btec) and KS5 (A-level/Btec). I run extra-curricular clubs including Guitar Club, Music Production Club, one-on-one guitar lessons and GCSE booster sessions to support GCSE students through their exams. My skills and expertise include playing the electric guitar, acoustic guitars, bass guitar and piano. I have an eclectic musical taste but my main influences derive from rock and metal music. You will find that I am a very supportive teacher and I am able to get the best out of my students by scaffolding their learning to suit their individual needs so that they can achieve the highest results possible. Are you looking for extra support for the dreaded Component 3 written music exam this summer? I am here to help you succeed! I have years of experience in teaching the Edexcel GCSE Music curriculum and will help get you through. We will review each of the 8 set works to find your strengths and areas for improvement. Then lessons will be tailored and learning scaffolded to meet your individual needs. My aim is to fill the gaps in your knowledge to help you get an outstanding GCSE qualification. We can deep dive into the set works and uncover each of the elements of music used, look into score annotation, go through unfamiliar listening exercises and practise exam questions to make sure you are ready for the real thing.
