About Maryam

I have absolutely loved my time teaching in schools for 6 years so far. While I take a career break from mainstream teaching, I would still like to carry on my passion and interest and help as many students as I can! I am friendly and warm and you will never have to feel worried about saying or asking the wrong thing in our lessons. I will dedicate my time to you to ensure you achieve the best results by the end of our tuition sessions and that you feel comfortable and engaged in our lessons. I have done a few years as a head of year (pastoral lead) at school, so I am well versed in safeguarding and pastoral care. Please feel free to ask any questions at all and get the most out of this experience.

About the lesson

I am a qualified teacher who has been teaching for 6 years at different types of schools (comprehensive, private) and most recently at a grammar school in London. My lessons are for all levels and ages and can be adapted for you, I have always taught KS3, GCSE and A-level, so different ages are not a problem. The typical length of a lesson would be around 40-50 minutes. I will use the first initial lesson to gauge your level of ability and knowledge, discuss what your goals are and what you are aiming to achieve, and put together a scheme of work for your course. Each lesson will be tailored to you and any needs that you have and can also be adapted as we go along.

Perfect! Maryam is an exceptional tutor. She is very organised, and her lessons are well-structured with straightforward explanations. My daughters learned a great deal in her classes and, most importantly, they enjoyed them immensely and loved Geography.

I’ve taught at the same school as Maryam for the past three years and she is by far the kindest I’ve worked with. She is so patient and helpful with her students; I’ve never heard a negative comment about her. Everyone would benefit having Maryam support you through your studies!

I have worked with Maryam for several years. We know each other from working in a school together. She is an excellent teacher, very knowledgeable, and considerate of her students' needs. She takes the time to understand her students well and has a fantastic way with explaining concepts. Not only that, but from speaking with her her students, they consider her to be one of their best teachers, which speaks for itself. I think Maryam would make an amazing tutor, and she can teach to all ranges of ability.
