About Christopher
I am a professional music educator with a background in applied linguistics, a Bachelor of Arts majoring in music, and over a decade of teaching experience. I also run the music analysis channel True Song Addict on YouTube (concealed information) where I dissect the songwriting mechanics of hit songs from artists like The Beatles, Nirvana, Britney Spears, The Strokes, and Olivia Rodrigo.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or an experienced musician, I’ll meet you where you’re at, tailoring interactive lessons to your level of musical knowledge and songwriting goals.
Potential approaches we can take in our sessions:
- From Conception to Completion: Working from the ground up to develop your raw ideas into a fully realised, complete song.
- Deconstructing the Greats: Analysing songs from YOUR favourite artists and genres to uncover the hidden machinery of why they work, and showing you how to apply those exact techniques to your own music.
- Targeted Skill Development: Focusing on the specific areas you want to sharpen:
Harmony & Melody: Writing engaging chord progressions and melodic hooks.
Rhythm Sections: Crafting solid bass lines and drum beats.
Structure & Storytelling: Mastering song architecture (verses, choruses, bridges) and writing impactful lyrics.
Arrangement & Dynamics: Balancing repetition with variation, executing smooth transitions, and using silence effectively.
Applied Music Theory: Understanding keys, advanced chord relationships, modulations, and time signatures.
Recording & Production: Navigating Logic Pro to record, arrange, and demo your tracks.
Whether you need constructive feedback on a completed track, creative strategies to finish a work-in-progress, or just want to understand how your favourite songs work, we will work together to elevate your craft.
