Words & Music is a small team of writers and musicians dedicated exclusively to contemporary songwriting & music production. Catering to aspiring songwriters of all levels including NCEA.

Barney had been a teacher at Michael Park School for many years. My kid started there since kindergarten, so we started to know him after a few school related occasions. My son learns music composition from Barney.

Barney is a great musician tutor. He can play a varioty of instruments, like guitar. He has formed his own composing theory system. Mostly importantly, he makes the lessons fun by applying his knowledge and guidance in an intuitive and tailored way to meet the individual student's need.

We feel privileged to have Barney teaching and highly recommend him. He has the magic trait that kids love to work with him, which is critical to keep them going through the not so easy learning journey.

Barney is an amazing teacher because not only is he extremely talented in his work but extremely passionate. He creates a safe space where students feel comfortable to artistically express and grow their musical knowledge and creativity. He is articulate kind, patient, and engaging. I’ve had an absolutely amazing time and have gained valuable experience. If you need a music tutor, producer, or mentor, I can’t recommend Barney enough.

Barney helped our 13yo record her first song. He understood her style and where she was coming from
