About Yasumoto

Hi! I'm a native Japanese speaker from Osaka, Japan, with around eight years of experience teaching Japanese online since 2018. During this time, I have taught students from many different countries, age groups, and backgrounds. My students have studied Japanese for a variety of reasons, including travel, conversation, work, living in Japan, and JLPT preparation. I have worked with learners ranging from complete beginners to students preparing for JLPT N1 and N2. As a teacher, I try to create a relaxed and supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I believe that learning a language should be practical, enjoyable, and connected to your own goals and interests. Outside of teaching, I also work as a tour guide for international visitors in Japan. I enjoy games, anime, and Japanese culture, and I'm always happy to share real-life Japanese and cultural insights with my students.

About the lesson

My lessons are practical, flexible, and personalized to your goals. I focus on helping you understand how Japanese is actually used, rather than simply memorizing grammar and vocabulary. A typical lesson may include conversation practice, grammar and vocabulary, pronunciation, reading, or role-play depending on your needs. For beginners, I can guide you step by step and explain difficult points in English when necessary. For more experienced learners, we can focus on natural conversation, JLPT preparation, or specific areas you would like to improve. I have around eight years of experience teaching Japanese online to students from different countries and backgrounds. I also create my own learning materials and exercises, so I can adapt lessons to your level and interests. My lessons are suitable for complete beginners to intermediate learners, including students preparing for JLPT N1-5, travelers to Japan, and anyone who wants to become more confident using Japanese in real-life situations. If you enjoy anime, games, or Japanese culture, we can also use your interests to make learning more enjoyable. Please note that I teach students aged 12 and above.
