About Marie-Cecile
I hold a Masters of Music (Performance) and a Bachelor of Music (Honours), double major in Voice & Pianoforte from the University of Sydney/ Sydney Conservatorium of Music. I am currently undertaking a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), with Central Queensland University, the thesis being "How does singing self-efficacy affect vocal performance outcomes?" I also have a well-established professional performance reputation, having performed extensively throughout Australia and Internationally. I have performed multiple musical theatre roles, Opera roles, Oratorio, Lieder and Art Song Recitals throughout Australia, Asia and Europe in a professional capacity. In 1995, I was the principal soloist for Pope John Paul II and a worldwide audience for the Beatification of Mary MacKillop.
I have developed vocal curriculums and tertiary courses within colleges throughout Cambridge, Peterborough and wider areas. I have been on staff at many reputable music institutions in the UK, having worked at The Kings’ College Cambridge, The Leys, St Mary's Catholic School, Hills Road Sixth Form College, Cambridge Regional College and staging productions with Stage Coach in Cambridge and Peterborough. I enjoyed performing recitals with Julian Lloyd-Webber, establishing the first girl’s choir within St Catherine's College and preparing the children’s choir for the professional production of Joseph and His Technicolor Dreamcoat.

I am fortunate to have been awarded a Citizen of the Year Nomination Award in 2015 for being a strong ambassador of music in the community. I am always pleased to offer my musical services within the community, advocate for music education and inspire others to gain a passion for music.
I am also proud to have acknowledged the importance of diversity and equality within the Riverina community, formulating and conducting the "Mawang Gaway Aboriginal Choir", performing songs in traditional Wiradjuri language and the "Unison" multicultural choir.
I have also worked at the University of Western Sydney during my career, where I managed undergraduate music academic curriculum material and utilised many vocal methodologies, including Bencke, Marchesi, Bel Canto technique, Jo Estelle, Seth Riggs, Concone and Vaccai. I teach language and diction in Italian, German and French for singers. I am also capable of teaching musicianship and pianoforte studies, along with directing various vocal and instrumental ensembles. I possess strong accompanying skills for instrumentalists and vocalists from beginner to tertiary level, having accompanied for concerts, examinations and auditions for Conservatoriums/Universities. I have also been a repetiteur for numerous musical, opera and oratorio productions.
Throughout my thirty-year teaching career, I have taught at numerous colleges, conducting ensembles and planning concerts and musical activities. I spent over five years teaching in Cambridge in the UK, an interesting and instructive experience that I believe has added international depth to my teaching expertise. I also regularly conduct workshops in schools and music education institutions for voice technique, concert practice and choirs.

I have prepared and entered over five hundred students for Australian Music Examination Board examinations and over two hundred for Associated Board of Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). I am also comfortable teaching students in preparation for Trinity College London examinations and am willing to extend my examination teaching preparations to Santa Lucia.
My previous similar roles have involved extensive promotion of conservatoria within the wider community (e.g. organising, rehearsing for and performing at concerts, eisteddfods, festivals, musical productions and corporate and charity functions) and using various forms of media (i.e. newspapers, radio and television). As demonstrated by my willingness to take part in such activities, I am extremely comfortable with demanding workloads and regular weekend/after hour’s work.
Running my own private studio of voice, piano and musicianship students, I have developed the ability to work autonomously and acquired excellent client service skills; a good level of computer literacy, online examination entry and accounting. I am also accustomed to working within a team, having done so successfully in previous roles teaching in schools and reporting to the director of each institution.
