Whether you're preparing for an exam, learning an instrument, writing your own music, or simply wanting to understand how music works, my lessons are tailored to your goals. As an NYU graduate in Music Composition with over a decade of teaching experience, I focus on making music theory practical, engaging, and immediately useful. We'll explore harmony, scales, chord progressions, ear training, analysis, improvisation, and composition at a pace that's right for you. My goal isn't just to help you memorize concepts, it's to help you truly understand music so you can perform, create, and listen with greater confidence. Whether you're a complete beginner or an advanced musician, lessons are personalized to help you grow.

Brian has been both an amazing teacher and influence on our son's learning to play the drums. He helped him
develop new skills and most importantly, sparked a passion for music!
— Adam D. - Christian's DadBrian is a kind and patient music teacher. He adapts at ease to each of our 3 son’s musical interests, abilities and personalities. We highly recommend!
— Kelly M. - Thomas and Jack's MomI’ve known Brian for over 10 years and he’s a very trustworthy and reliable person in all aspects of his life. He really cares about his personal and professional responsibility and is an excellent teacher.
Brian is a very talented musician. He’s a natural teacher, very disciplined, extremely knowledgeable and has a great “from the ground up” method of teaching. I highly recommend him!
I met Brian in Portland, OR years ago. I had a great experience working with him. He understood the fundamentals of drumming very well. He was incredibly skilled on the drum set and this inspired me to become a better drummer and musician. I can't recommend this teacher highly enough.
Brian was a wonderful teacher! He was very polite and patient. I could tell he was passionate about the subject as he often shared different music for me to listen to in addition the assignment he gave me. I'm a slow learner but he always found a way for me to understand the content.
