About May

Learning piano is not just about sitting practical exams, but also developing the coordination and emotion needed to perform with influence. With 4+ years of experience, I started teaching primary school students a year after passing my own grade 8 exam. I can relate to the early struggles of endless practicing and am thus capable of teaching and sharing my experience while avoiding the emotional burnout. My students always look forward to my lessons, achieving high efficiency and results. Parents also recommend me to others, evidence of my professional practices.

About the lesson

Typically 60 minutes per lesson, available for students of ages 5-18 going for ABRSM Piano Grades 1-8 exams. Previous 5+ students have all achieved merit or above in their respective grade exams.
Close communication with parents, English and Chinese both available. Patient and meticulous practicing with the student, focusing on rhythm, musicality, technique, and connection with the music.

May has been my piano teacher for years and since the beginning has always been the most patient, kind, yet sets high expectations to ensure I reach my fullest potential. I have been able to improve so much as a pianist during my journey with her and she has consistently had immaculate communication & organization, so I highly recommend!
