About May
Learning piano is not just about sitting practical exams, but also developing the coordination and emotion needed to perform with influence. With 4+ years of experience, I started teaching primary school students a year after passing my own grade 8 exam. I can relate to the early struggles of endless practicing and am thus capable of teaching and sharing my experience while avoiding the emotional burnout. Typically 60 minutes per lesson, available for students of ages 5-18 going for ABRSM Piano Grades 1-8 exams. Previous 5+ students have all achieved merit or above in their respective grade exams.
Close communication with parents, English and Chinese both available. Patient and meticulous practicing with the student, focusing on rhythm, musicality, technique, and connection with the music.
