Hi there,

I am a passionate tutor because I know firsthand how much the right guidance, preparation and approach can influence a student’s confidence and results. After graduating from Ivanhoe Grammar School with an ATAR of 98.75 and a Raw Study Score of 44 in VCE Geography, I understand the demands of VCE and what is required to perform strongly across SACs and exams.

Throughout my own studies, I learned that achieving strong results is not simply about memorizing content or working harder. It is about understanding what you are learning, knowing how to apply your knowledge, developing effective strategies for different question types, and learning from your mistakes. This experience has shaped the way I tutor and motivates me to help students develop these skills for themselves.

I have over two years of tutoring experience and 200+ hours of teaching experience, working with students across a range of year levels and abilities. I take the time to understand how each student learns and tailor my lessons accordingly. Whether a student needs help understanding a difficult topic, improving their written responses, preparing for an upcoming SAC, or pushing towards a higher study score, I aim to provide clear, practical and personalized guidance.

I care deeply about my students’ progress and take pride in creating lessons that are engaging, supportive and purposeful. My teaching style is patient and encouraging, while still challenging students to think independently and reach their potential. I believe students perform best when they understand why something is important and how to apply it, rather than simply memorizing information.

What motivates me most is seeing students become more confident in their own ability. Helping someone go from feeling overwhelmed by a subject to approaching unfamiliar questions with clarity and confidence is what makes tutoring so rewarding for me. My goal is to help students not only improve their marks, but develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform at their best.

About the lesson

I offer personalized 1-on-1 online tutoring for Unit 3/4 VCE Geography, focused on helping students develop a strong understanding of geographical concepts, improve their analytical skills, and perform confidently in SACs and exams.

Lessons run for 60 minutes at $60 per hour and are tailored to each student’s current level, goals and areas for improvement. We can begin by reviewing recent SACs, practice questions, teacher feedback or specific topics you are finding difficult. From there, lessons focus on building your understanding of key geographical concepts and developing the skills needed to apply that knowledge effectively to different question types.

Lessons are highly interactive and built around active student participation. Rather than simply going through notes, you’ll work through questions, analyze geographical data and case studies, practice interpreting maps, graphs and other sources, and develop responses to VCAA-style questions with guidance throughout the lesson.

A major focus is developing the ability to apply knowledge rather than simply memorize it. You’ll learn how to structure high-quality responses, use geographical terminology accurately, incorporate relevant examples and data, interpret sources effectively, and adapt your knowledge to unfamiliar questions.

Lessons also incorporate SAC and exam preparation, including time management, question analysis, identifying key command terms, and developing strategies for maximizing marks under exam conditions.

These lessons are best suited for Unit 3/4 VCE Geography students who want to strengthen their understanding, improve their SAC performance, become more confident answering extended-response questions, and maximize their final exam results.
