About Kate
I have taught private lessons both through independent freelance and a corporate program. I teach students of all ages and love to discover people's "why" for learning music. I teach music to bring people joy during stressful times and help inspire creativity in people. Whether you're looking to survive a music theory class, learn an instrument for the first time, or improve your already advanced skills, I am excited to work with you.

I tailor each lesson to meet a student's interests and needs. I balance hard academic points with fun, focusing on teaching through a student's favorite songs by showing them the theory behind why their favorite songs work. I nerd out over theory and apply concepts to every song to which I listen, from a classical sonata to radio pop. Can teach beginner to advanced level of music theory.
