Hello! I’m Dorcas, a passionate and patient tutor who enjoys helping students learn and build confidence. With my background in communication, teaching training, and online English tutoring, I make every lesson engaging, supportive, and easy to understand. I believe every student learns differently, so I adjust my approach to match their needs, level, and learning goals. My goal is to make every student feel comfortable, motivated, and confident while learning.

About the lesson

Hi! I’m Dorcas, a Mass Communication graduate with teaching experience from my professional education training and tutoring background. I’ve taught secondary students during my OJT and have also worked as an online English tutor for Chinese students ages 5–15.

My teaching method:
I keep my lessons simple, interactive, and student-centered. I adjust my teaching style based on the student’s level, personality, and learning needs. I use conversations, examples, questions, reading, and activities to make learning easier and more enjoyable.

Typical lesson:
I usually start with a short warm-up or review, introduce the new topic, practice it together, and then let the student apply what they learned through speaking, reading, or activities. I also give feedback and a quick review at the end.

What sets me apart:
I’m patient, approachable, and genuinely enjoy working with students. I want my students to feel comfortable making mistakes because I believe mistakes are part of learning. I also make sure each lesson is practical and engaging.

Who I teach:
I’m comfortable teaching beginners to intermediate learners, especially children and young students. I can help with English speaking, reading, vocabulary, pronunciation, basic grammar, and conversational skills. I can also support students with homework and other learning activities.
