About Dave

I have coached high school rugby since 2006. I am a USA Rugby level 300 certified coach and the head coach of the Tampa Krewe U-19.

Individual or group lessons are available. Players are encouraged to join the Krewe U-19 team where I coach on Tuesday and Thursday evenings during rugby season (November through May).

I enjoy coaching and coaches my son in football, baseball, and rugby. When he graduated from high school, I continued coaching because of the enjoyment I get from teaching sports and seeing athletes excel in those sports.

11 years of rugby playing experience

8 years of coaching experience

USA Rugby level 300 certified

Completed USA Rugby coaching clinics for lineouts and 7s

About the lesson

We develop passing and kicking skills while incorporating elements of strength and conditioning to ensure that our athletes are ready for game days.

High school and middle school age athletes.

First, join a rugby club. Your club will provide a lot of training at no additional cost. If you would like off season coaching or a few specialty skills sessions during the season, then lessons are a good way to accomplish that.

My team won the 2008 Florida Youth Rugby Union Championship and placed 3rd in the Southeastern U.S. The team has competed in the playoffs in all but the first season I coached.

A few things worth thinking about before reaching out
What are your rugby gaols?

What position do you want to play?

What aspect of your game do you want to improve?
