About Dennis

The benefits of putting your children in martial arts at Shepherd-Warrior Martial Arts are diverse and abundant. While teaching them great self-protection skills, they focus mostly on developing discipline, focus, patience, confidence, and integrity; all while helping them to stay in better shape. The parents of our students realize that having a child with confidence and self-respect is about as important as their ability to read and write.

We enjoy seeing people's lives be changed by their training and experiences at our school. They get empowered by the physical skills - knowing that you can protect yourself can give you a great confidence boost. But even more than that, our students develop their character through the training and lessons taught in class. They become aware of how to be the best they can be and learn to strive to do their best consistently. Parents of our black belt students have come to us and said that the positive changes their child has undergone were so valuable to them, it pales in comparision to any tuition they paid.

Our staff of Instructors have spent many years devoted to training in the martial arts and have attained a level of expertise to qualify them as teachers and also mentors. Through extensive testing, certification and even competition, our staff has attained mastery in this martial art and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to their students. But even more important than that, they are outstanding people and good role models for their students. They live out their beliefs every day in and out of class.

About the lesson

All of our new students go through an introductory process to be able to come in and see if our school is right for them. The first lesson is a one-on-one style class (sometimes 2 or 3 are in an intro class) where we work to set the student(s) up for success in our group classes. We go over the basics and what you'll need to know to be able to feel comfortable in the group environment. The second step is to try out a group class. If after all that you decide you want to join us for ongoing training, we can get you started.

Watch a class - wherever you think you might want to go. Watch and see how the instructor(s) treat the students, how the students treat each other and the instructors (if there are more than one) treat each other. Talk to other students and parents and make sure that you or your child will be in a safe environment.

Tuition prices are determined by a number of factors including which program fits them the best, how often a person attends class and how long they sign up for. Rates are usually between $7-15 per class, depending on the arrangement made. Flexible payment terms are available.
