About Joyce
I am an educator/researcher, student, tutor, mentor, facilitator and coach. I have been teaching at high school for 4 years and tutoring, facilitating, mentoring, teaching assistant and supervising under and post graduate students at the University of the Western Cape for 7 years. I have degrees in Education, BEd (UNIMA), Masters (MPH) and Post Graduate Diploma in Public Health (PGDipPH) from the University of the Western Cape (UWC)

My teaching methods includes discussion, lecture and group work.My teaching philosophy focuses on providing clarity on key principles, concepts and contexts as I believe that context matters among other things. I view consultation and feedback as central to facilitate teaching and learning because I value both knowledge-based and skilled-based teaching and learning attributes. I view myself as duty bearer and my students are right holders both with expected roles and responsibilities towards teaching and learning. I also value question and answer approaches with group discussions.
