About Kevin
I have been teaching music for 12 years and was first inspired to learn music by listening to metalcore bands such as early Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, Shadows Fall, Darkest Hour, Unearth and more. As I continued playing music I took up the saxophone in school band and pursued marching band. I went to school for music and began playing and touring with a local Metalcore band until I decided to pursue music education. I dusted off my saxophone and journeyed to SUNY Fredonia to study classical saxophone and music education. After graduating I began teaching in public schools teaching many musical subjects until settling on Concert Band. Throughout this period I was constantly writing music, playing shows, and pursuing various projects. While teaching I completed a Master's Degree in Curriculum Design and Instructional Technology. Through this research I learned how to apply highly effective teaching techniques and methodologies. Music Education is a core skill. Building music literacy is as significant as any of the other core subjects. Music is academic and through its study you can create a deeper connection with the world and yourself. I am high energy, and do not give up on any student. I believe that every single person is capable of doing what they set out to do.

I combine the experiences of my role as a performer across many genres: metallic hardcore, pop, indie rock with my education as a classical saxophonist at SUNY Fredonia where I studied music education. I am an active public school music teacher focusing on Concert Band and an afterschool Modern Band curriculum. Although I love performing teaching, connecting, and growing scholarly connections with students has overtaken my musical endeavors.
I will implement all my education techniques and musical experience to help you bridge gaps in knowledge, make practical practice plans and cultivate joy through your journey of exploring music.
My lessons are focused on a whole - part - whole methodology. We will first tackle a concept by applying it then work backwards, by breaking it down only to reapproach the same concept with new realizations.
I am looking forward to meeting and working with you!

Kevin is a valued colleague of mine. He is an exceptional teacher because he is always working on his craft. He helps people be themselves as musicians. You can't go wrong by working with him thanks to his professional training, years of experience, and unique perspective on music.
Kevin is an incredible artist and teacher. His positive, energetic, can-do attitude is enough alone to uplift anyone. It’s amazing what he shares with his students, and a priceless experience. Couldn’t value him enough!
I hired Kevin for a saxophone gig. Absolutely made the song. His musical knowledge is vast and his professionalism sets the standard!
I've been learning from Kevin for a few years now, and I can honestly say he is an excellent music teacher. He is always punctual and communicative, which makes scheduling and planning lessons so easy and stress-free. I never have to worry about last-minute changes or not knowing what to expect. He is reliable and truly committed to his students’ progress.
One of the things I appreciate most is how much he supports me when I’m preparing for performances. For example, before one of my recent shows, he helped me break down the music into manageable sections, focused on the parts I was struggling with, and gave me practical techniques to build confidence. He even adjusted our lessons leading up to the performance so we could spend extra time on stage presence and expression. Because of his guidance, I felt much more prepared and confident.
He is patient, encouraging, and genuinely invested in helping his students succeed. I always leave lessons feeling motivated and excited to keep improving. I highly recommend him to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, dependable, and supportive music teacher.
Kevin is one of the best all-around musicians I know, and a fantastic instructor as well!
