About Harish

I am passionate about making the digital world a safer place. I have spent almost a decade in the cybersecurity industry, helping various Fortune 500 firms responding to incidents and have helped them secure large-scale computer networks. I currently run a cybersecurity startup in Toronto. Now, I want to use my skills to spread the knowledge and help people who are interested in the field. More importantly, I believe teaching is the best way to learn and I hope to learn with you. I am excited in taking this journey with you.

About the lesson

- My goal is to teach real-world and practical industry skills that you can use towards a career in cybersecurity
- I believe in teaching by doing and keeping this fun, all my sessions will have practical exercises and capture-the-flag type puzzles and challenges
- I believe in custom plan based on where the student is currently, but these are the typical items I will cover:
1) Basics on how computers and networks work
2) Fundamental concepts of Cyber - defense (blue team) and offense (red team)
3) Fundamentals of core areas in defense: Account Security, Application Security, Data Protection, Network Security, Threat Detection & Management, Incident Response and Forensics, Malware Analysis, Security Engineering, and Vulnerability Detection & Management, Security Auditing
4) Fundamentals of core areas in offense: Hacker mindset, Vulnerability scanning, Password Cracking, Metasploit exploitation, Web penetration testing, Sniffing and Protocol Analysis, Web hacking, Evasion, Wi-Fi hacking, social engineering, malicious Python
5) Capstone project based on student's interest in one of the modules. For example, Malware Analysis will include the build-out of a malware sandbox and analyzing three advanced malware variants
