About Mildred
Teaching is less about instruction and more about translating the world for someone else. You might assume fluency is about perfect grammar, but it is actually about the bravery to make mistakes. My students range from Grade 3 newcomer kids to adults finding their footing in Canada through music and language together. Having 11 years of experience means I have learned to pivot when a concept does not click.

A desk with an open notebook and a cup of tea is where our work begins. I use my BM Vocal Performance and TEFL background from UBC to treat language as a rhythmic and structural practice. Listening comprehension and idioms become manageable through the free access I provide to my vocabulary notes.
Confidence in speaking grows when we dismantle the fear of being wrong. This is the core of 11 years of experience.
