About Valerie
I've taught students for over 10 years. It's important to me that I get to know my students and we build a safe space to learn. I grew up in a family that didn't value education but somehow learned to be a lifelong student, as well as teacher. Education holds power and learning makes life interesting.
Aside from my passion for learning and teaching, I love video games, hiking, anything to do with nature, animals, and traveling.

Teaching should be fun! Let's learn together, but let's make it interesting. I'm naturally curious and love to teach as much as I love to learn. Lessons with me will include typical teaching, videos, pictures, and interactive components.
I like to move and encourage my students to move as well. Studies show that movement helps you think and learn!
My lessons are especially for those that need help in ELA or English. I'm an avid reader and writer. I can help you with learning how to put together a sentence, all the way up to writing multiple page essays. I also love teaching science! I can help with 1st grade work all the way up to high school.
