About Martha

Hi there! I’m a working film and television actress and a graduate of the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York. I recently completed a four-season run on a WBTV/Fox television series, and during my downtime I love teaching. Working with aspiring actors keeps me fresh in the craft and reminds me of the fundamentals of the acting process. I welcome students of all levels, whether you're completely new to acting or looking to refine your skills. My goal is to help students build confidence, develop strong acting skills, and enjoy the creative process. Whether you’re preparing for auditions, working on monologues, or just exploring acting for fun, my lessons are supportive, engaging, and tailored to each student.

About the lesson

I have over three years of experience teaching acting to students in New York and online to students internationally. My background as a working film and television actress allows me to bring real-world industry insight into every lesson. My classes are highly interactive because I believe acting is something you learn by doing. Students actively perform during each lesson through exercises, scene work, and monologues designed to build confidence, presence, and authentic performance. My teaching approach is primarily inspired by the Meisner technique, which focuses on truthful reactions, listening, and being present in the moment. We use repetition exercises and improvisation to help students develop strong instincts and natural performances. Above all, I believe learning acting should be supportive, collaborative, and fun. My goal is to create a safe environment where students feel comfortable taking creative risks and discovering their unique voice as performers. I believe acting is not only about performance—it’s also a powerful way to build confidence, creativity, and a deeper understanding of people and the choices we make. Whether you’re an acting student looking to sharpen your craft through scene study and mock auditions, or someone who is simply curious about acting and wants to explore it for the first time, I would love to support you on that journey. Together we’ll work on developing your instincts, making strong creative choices, and feeling confident in your performance. Acting has been a lifelong passion for me, and I truly enjoy helping students discover their own voice and confidence through this craft.
