About James
After graduating from McGill University's physics program, I began graduate school where I was researching condensed matter topics at l'Université de Montréal. Think of condensed matter as applied quantum mechanics, searching for the technologies of the future. I was diagnosed late in life with ADHD, so I know well what it is to struggle with learning. This is a fundamental driver of my belief in every student's potential, and of the importance of personalized learning. As well, having learned what keeps me interested lets me find what keeps students' attention to the topics at hand.

I believe that learning is fundamentally about repetition. This makes for a simple lesson plan. In regards to physics and math, this means sitting down and working through problems relevant to the course, together. Through this problem-solving session, we can find and address weak points in the student's understanding of course material. I strive to make this an enjoyable experience by providing a positive attitude and affirming the student's potential. Learning is tough enough, no sense making it tougher. My perspective is, if a student is struggling to learn then I simply haven't yet found how best to teach it for that student. Everyone is different.
