About Elizabeth
Dear Parent,
I am sure that finding the perfect tutor for your child is a difficult and daunting task. I would like to therefore reassure you that what I will offer your child is 100% dedication, focus and enthusiasm to ensure that they end up with a genuine interest and passion for whichever subject it is that we are covering. I will list below my various credentials for working with children and then the differing subjects that I teach. I am extremely passionate about all the subjects I teach having reached A* GCSE in all of them. I received A* grade A Levels in French and Latin and A grade A Levels in Spanish and Religious Studies. I subsequently studied Law in Colombia so am now fluent to an academic level in Spanish.
Working with Children
I have been looking after children since the age of 15 and have absolutely loved it. I worked for Tiny Tots looking after many children every week and have become adept at multitasking and managing children’s energy levels. I have also worked at a CCHF summer camp for underprivileged children. We looked after the children for a week trying to teach them basic lessons such as using a knife and fork and manners. We needed to make sure that the children were always having fun at the same time. I understand that children need to be interested in what they are doing to learn about it. I believe that every child can learn whatever subject, they just have to be given the time, enthusiasm and passion for the subject.
French
I received an A* grade A Level in French and A* GCSE. I have subsequently kept up with my French as I have family living in France and have travelled to France to practice my French. I have my DELF B1 and DELF B2 in French. I am particularly interested in French grammar, which I accept can be extremely difficult, especially for younger students, so would work hard to help them knuckle down the basics before advancing onto more complex structures.
Spanish
I received an A grade A Level and A* GCSE. I subsequently have become fluent in Spanish after studying law in Spanish in Colombia. I love Spanish language and culture and will hopefully instil this love of Spanish for your children.
Latin
I received an A* grade A Level and A* GCSE. I always loved Latin and received 100% in one of my A Level papers. I recently have been helping my 11 year old cousin with his latin prep and I assure you that I will not just do your child’s work for them, I will work to help them understand how to do it themselves.
Religious Studies
I received an A in my A Level and A* GCSE with 100% mark overall. I thoroughly enjoy RS both the theological and the philosophical and ethical sides. I would be able to very easily change my style of teaching depending on what level the student was at.
Maths
I received an A* at GCSE in Maths. I am very happy to help students with maths up to GCSE level and especially where algebra may be a concern. I will tailor any lesson plans depending on their level.
English
I received an A* at GCSE in English. I can help with English language or literature, especially if English is not the student’s first language. Having studied abroad myself I understand the need to slow down sometimes to ensure that both levels of understanding have been met.
SATs
I completed my SATs and my results were in the 94th percentile of all students (including all American students) who took the SATs that year. I received no help when preparing for my SATs and was completely self taught.
