About Sasha

First introduced to music, horseback riding and yoga all at age four and studying music and arts all throughout school. Achieving a Digital Arts and Web Masters degree from the Art Institute and Grade 10 Piano from the RCM, private piano lessons began with the Yamaha School of Music and continued with the Royal Conservatory of Music. English equestrian dressage and show jumping with the Vancouver Pony Club, Maynards Equus as well as her aunt and uncle, who were professional trainers. She quickly picked up Yoga as it was taught by her grandmother, who began her practice at age twenty as a Vivekananda Disciple. Sasha aligned with yoga and meditation as part of her young life and showed ease of skill in many of the advanced asanas. A naturally born yogi, she insisted on walking barefoot, taking regular naps, hanging upside down and eating raw. She absorbed the teachings of Thich Nhat Hanh and put into practice the Miracle of Mindfulness.

About the lesson

Gentle guidance and loving touch extends from her fascination with the body as an instrument of spiritual and creative expression. She has witnessed and guided her students through the wonders of movement, self-awareness, and connection to the Universal. Her belief in the magic of touch as a means of healing and as a conduit for energy informs her teaching style, which relies strongly on imagery, humor, and hands-on interaction. With over 2000 hours of teaching experience, Sasha maintains several disciplines and certifications, is Yoga Alliance Registered and holds her E-RYT200, she has also completed and co-facilitated several 200-hour teacher training and certification courses.

Her focus is on safely guiding clientele through physical postures with emphasis on alignment and the breath, her knowledge base is founded on practiced techniques and intuition in order to assist in the healing process of mind/body/spirit, to strengthen and lengthen, release stress, increase awareness, cultivate acceptance and promote an enriching personal practice from the earth up.
