One word: Integrity. I like one phrase that David came up with and can explain in detail if called to - he is a wordsmith. That phrase is "never compromise".
He brings that expectation of excellence to all he does in teaching and media.

I have also seen David practice another set of useful skills, that ability to still himself and really hear what the other person is saying so that he can reach them effectively. The ability to rephrase what he wants understood until he can tell he has reached his audience is also a very good quality in a teacher - rather then repeat himself if he is not reaching someone he will find a way to use an analogy or come at it from a different perspective until he can tell that it is getting through successfully. The best teachers I have met in my life can do this.

Finally, because he has real talent in both his media and artistic endeavors, David can appreciate and nurture real talent in others.
