About Jasmine

I am a veterinarian with 8 years experience, who is combining my extensive experience in the veterinary industry with my love of teaching. I am currently a volunteer English tutor with the Adult Migrant English Program, and have experience tutoring English, Math and Biology. It’s incredibly rewarding to see students’ faces light up when something they’ve been struggling with finally “clicks”. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, reading and traveling. I’ve worked as a veterinarian in both Australia and the UK, and helped a range of students from different countries and backgrounds.

About the lesson

Lessons that help you achieve your goals. The main focus of most lessons is usually speaking and listening, but I can also help with other areas. Reading and writing, including for academic purposes, as well as vocabulary building can be practiced.

I have a special interest in helping professionals (such as veterinarians) to gain confidence in their communication skills, but can help everyone with their English.

Lessons are typically one hour long and they focus on areas that the student wants to improve in.

During the first lesson, we discuss how the student feels about different areas and where they would like to focus on. We develop goals and then a plan to help achieve these. It can be very helpful to set small, achievable goals for each lesson so that the student feels a sense of accomplishment. This helps students remain engaged and enthusiastic to learn more!
