About Vellayan
Hi, I’m Vellayan! I am currently completing my Master of Data Science at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), living locally in the Parramatta / Mays Hill area. I hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a strong academic background.
With over 40 hours of hands-on experience volunteering in primary school environments, I specialize in guiding young learners through core subjects in a structured, engaging, and patient manner.
Whether your child needs help mastering math concepts, wants to explore introductory Python coding, or is interested in beginner piano, I tailor every session to suit their individual learning speed and goals.

My tutoring style emphasizes logical clarity, hands-on practice, and building genuine confidence in every student.
A standard 60-minute session is split into three focused segments:
1. Review & Practice (10 mins): We go over school homework or address specific difficulties from previous lessons.
2. Core Skill & Guided Examples (35 mins): We break down complex math formulas, Python code logic, or piano theory into simple, digestible steps.
3. Independent Application (15 mins): The student solves targeted problems independently to lock in their understanding.
Who these sessions are designed for:
• Primary & Junior High Students (Years 1 to 8): Improving numerical accuracy, problem-solving, and math confidence.
• Beginners in Tech: Learning foundational Python programming, data concepts, and basic computer logic.
• Young Learners: Starting out with beginner piano basics (keyboard layout, note reading, and easy melodies).
Rate & Format Notice:
To make home visits worthwhile, in-person lessons at the student's home are booked as 2-hour sessions ($70 per visit). 1-hour sessions ($30) are available online or in-person at Parramatta Library.
