About Angela
Hi! I’m a second-year Physics student at the University of Waterloo with a strong interest in Math and Physics education. I enjoy helping students build confidence in subjects that often feel intimidating by breaking concepts down into clear, manageable steps. I understand that every student learns differently, so I focus on adapting my explanations to suit each individual’s pace and learning style. My goal is not just to help students get the right answer, but to understand the reasoning behind it so they feel more comfortable tackling new problems on their own. I aim to create a supportive, low-pressure learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. My lessons are best suited for high school students looking to strengthen their understanding of Math and Physics, improve their grades, or feel more confident in class.

I take a hands-on, example-driven approach to tutoring, where students actively work through problems rather than passively listening to explanations. I believe concepts stick best when students are guided step-by-step and encouraged to think through problems on their own, with support when needed.
A typical lesson begins by identifying what the student finds most confusing, followed by worked examples and guided practice to build confidence. I emphasize understanding why formulas and methods work, not just how to apply them, so students can approach new problems independently.
As a University of Waterloo physics student, I focus on clear explanations, strong fundamentals, and problem-solving strategies that align with how math and physics are tested in high school. My lessons are intended for high-school students of all levels, particularly those taking Grade 11–12 math and physics who want to strengthen both their understanding and performance. I aim to make challenging material feel manageable and approachable, helping students build confidence alongside their skills.
