About Jennifer
My name is Jenn and I am a third-year student at the University of Victoria. I study Political Science and Slavic studies with experience in French, Spanish, Latin and Russian as well. As a native English-speaker, I have helped tutor ESL students as well as those interested in academic writing. Whether you are interested in learning conversational or academic English, I can help improve your speaking, writing, listening and/or reading skills. If you are a University of Victoria student looking to fulfill your Academic Writing Requirement (AWR/English 135), or an exchange student looking to brush up on vocabulary, I can offer inexpensive tutoring sessions for yourself or your group.
I have tutored English and business classes for four years and I am currently a writing assistant employed by the University of Victoria’s Resource Centre for Students with Disabilities (RCSD).

My methods combine what I have learned in my 8 years of learning foreign languages. A first assessment will determine whether you are a visual (seeing), auditory (listening), kinesthetic (touching) or reading/writing learner. While all methods will be used to tutor, this assessment will help shape the curriculum to best suit you. Based on your level of previous knowledge, I will create a curriculum that you are welcome to modify and then we can create a schedule that best fits your lifestyle.

No travel fee will be charged for tutoring sessions at University of Victoria, downtown Victoria, Gordon Head and Hillside neighborhoods. Travel fee will be charged for Cordova Bay, Vic West areas and past further. If unsure, please ask! Group rates are discounted.
