About Alicia

I am currently studying the final year of the Translation and Interpreting degree (English-French> Spanish) at the Complutense University of Madrid. I have done an Erasmus in the United Kingdom during the 2018/2019 academic year, with which I can also offer, if the student wanted, sections where we would see British culture.

I like interactive classes and to convey to my student that English is a beautiful language and that it is not as difficult as it seems at the beginning. The base structure that I follow is the same as in schools and textbooks: I choose a theme, for example tourism, and from there I approach everything else always following that theme. Not all my classes are the same as I always adapt to the student, their needs and preferences and tastes, but in general and if they do not ask me for the fee, I always address the 6 general sections that are seen in schools: - Verb conjugations : Depending on the level of the student we will delve into some verbal or other times, but this section is undoubtedly the one that usually costs the most for what will always be included in all my lessons. - Reading comprehension: I use texts of all kinds and I always try to find texts that deal with a subject that the student likes (since it will be more interesting and easier to learn) and, of course, have the necessary linguistic requirements to Your academic progress - Listening comprehension: In this section I really like to use videos of British, American and Irish speakers and teach them to distinguish the accents. I usually use YouTube educational videos and excerpts from Netflix series that I consider didactic. - Written expression: under my experience as a student, a person improves their writing by writing about topics they like, not boring topics or taxes. Therefore, I always make lists with the students with the topics that they would like to talk about or that they would like to know more about (and in this way we document ourselves a little in English and improve reading comprehension at the same time). - Oral expression: I make a list of the topics that the student would like to address or recreate conversations related to the vocabulary of the unit we are studying. - Grammar and vocabulary: this is undoubtedly one of the sections that counts most in the exams of the school. Employment exams published by institutions such as Cambrdige or academic book units. I like to focus on a theme and related vocabulary (verbs, phrasal verbs, idioms, false friends, nouns and adjectives ...)
