About Tina
I am a second-year UBC student, working towards honours in International Relations, minor in Political Sciences and a Dual Degree in Masters of Management. I have had expensive experience in academic English such as reading and writing essays and oral presentations. As a bilingual (Cantonese, English) still actively learning languages myself (French, Mandarin), I understand the mindset of a student learning and struggling with a new language. My classes are ideal for students K-12, as well as international students.

I am offering English tutoring lessons for students K-12 as well as international students of all ages. The aspect that sets my classes apart from others is how I customize my lessons for each specific student. My first session with each student is dedicated to discovering their unique learning style (visual/pictorial, verbal, hands-on etc), identifying key areas of weakness as well as goal-setting. Then, I will discuss my findings with the parent/guardian and student as well as reveal plans for classes moving forward. My lessons are very flexible in terms of methodology and this is my greatest asset as this will allow my lessons to be both effective and engaging.
