About Emma
I have always loved academia and teaching. I believe that we are all both students and teachers for the entirety of our lifetimes. The roles may interweave at different stages, but no one is exempt from learning. It is a lifelong endeavor! My students seem to teach me as much as I intend to teach them. I am a great listener and I love being of service wherever I can. I am a kind and big-hearted lover of books, music, and gardens. It is a joy to be able to help my students improve the quality of their written work and oral presentations and their overall English language proficiency.

I help my students with English written assignments and oral presentations.
I teach my students how to improve the organization, grammatical accuracy, syntax, sentence structure, and overall presentation of their written and oral work. I teach students how to refine their work and, in doing so, ensure that they become more adept at the English language.
My teaching style reflects the understanding that everyone is different and therefore may require different approaches. I aim to understand my student's specific set of strengths, challenges, and requirements by first getting acquainted with how their thought process works, their level of English proficiency, the assignment they are working on, and what they would like additional support with. I tailor my approach to the needs of the student and the work they've been assigned. I support them by asking questions and providing thoughtful feedback to ultimately evoke deeper insights while helping them improve how they reflect, communicate, and share their work on the page or with the class.
Just to be clear, I do not do my students' homework for them. I am a hands-on tutor who supports my students by teaching them how to think critically and communicate better for themselves. They already have everything within them, sometimes we all require a little extra support or a new set of eyes and ears to help get us back on track when we're stuck, lack proper guidance, or are struggling with the nuances of the English language.
I work with middle school, high school, and college students.
