About Hiba
As a motivated bilingual woman who is passionately pursuing a B.Sc. Specialized Honours in Global Health Policy, Management and Systems, I am extremely interested in submitting an application for the advertised position.
The effectiveness of my verbal communication can be evidenced in the success of these various fundraising initiatives for non-profit organizations including UNICEF, CNIB, BC Cancer Foundation, PLAN, Effect Hope, Doctors without Borders, CAMH and Diabetes Canada. I consistently raised the highest number of donations.
I have developed advanced formal writing skills over the past 8 years at York University while doing in-depth multidisciplinary research.
During my time tutoring and teaching grades 1 and 2, 3 and 4, as well as 7 and 8 combined classes, I maintained written communication of students’ records through weekly summary of lesson plans and monthly grade reports. Those experiences greatly enhanced my multi-tasking and time-management skills. I also have over 3 years of experience creating interactive activities that incorporated my students’ different learning styles.

-Lesson planning: Teach students how to become independent learners by helping them practice effective studying habits; assess the student’s learning style in order to create the most suitable interactive review sheet for each sub-unit, as well as a review sheet for the major concepts covered in all sub-units; create assessment questions for each sub-unit, as well as an assessment for the major concepts covered in all sub-units.
-Demonstrating effective studying habits by skimming over the unit outline; introduction, sub-unit titles, bolded concepts and their definitions, as well as the unit summary. Read each sub-unit from start to end while making note of key concepts, names, dates and places by using a specific highlighter color for each category or by taking notes.
-Answer review questions at the end of each sub-unit in an open-book format by reviewing; determining student’s learning style through a generic questionnaire, reviewing material covered in an interactive way; provide brief assessment questionnaire; administer a mini quiz that resemble the review questions at the end of each
sub-unit
-During Exam preparation, we rehearse review sheets containing key concepts in each sub-unit, then administer an open-book test covering the key concepts; and finally administer a similar test without the option of open-book
